Project excellence can be achieved by employing an effective project management strategy. This involves identifying all elements necessary for its success and creating a plan to meet them; then using this plan as guidance throughout execution and completion. A strong project management strategy will help ensure your project is completed on time and within budget while decreasing risks while increasing chances of success.
The Project Excellence book is an invaluable resource for individuals and organizations seeking to enhance their project management processes and practices. It outlines three criteria for achieving project excellence: People, Project Objectives and Processes & Resources. All three interact closely together, so in order to reach project excellence you must address them all simultaneously.
Project managers are expected to do much with limited resources – staffing, funding and access to key strategic information being the main ones. This research marked a unique contribution to REP research as it provided insight into their effect on stakeholders’ satisfaction in this context.

It will also encourage team members to collaborate together when difficulties arise, providing proactive assistance when difficulties occur, supporting, enabling and expediting delivery of exceptional results.

Layering can help simplify the Technical level process model and manage complexity effectively, helping hide details while not oversaturating it with detail. However, it should still not go too far; if needed partitioning may be used depending on location considerations or technology solutions.
Another key element of successful technical processes is creating a documented quality system to evaluate and monitor progress of process models. This may involve setting up either an internal quality framework or externally audited standard that allows projects to have a consistent approach for measuring quality of processes as well as an external benchmark to compare them against.
